India has been hit hard by the COVID-19 second wave. The new variant, which is also called a double mutant or a double mutation COVID virus, is thought to be driving the surge in infections. India’s double mutation virus is currently being followed by WHO due to its potential to increase transmission and reduce neutralization of antibodies.
The new strain is thwarting containment efforts of the country and putting the existing healthcare system under tremendous stress. Given this situation, healthcare authorities are recommending mildly symptomatic and asymptomatic patients be treated under home quarantine. This makes the role of home care services more crucial than what it was during the first wave.
COVID homecare should be based on the care protocols issued by the healthcare authorities. As these protocols get revised with the change in our understanding of the virus, the homecare services should quickly adapt to these changes as and when they take place.
The treatment prescribed under COVID homecare should also be based on multiple investigations conducted at different points of time.
It is also important for the COVID homecare to be driven by a doctor. A doctor should closely monitor the patient and their response to the ongoing medication.
We offer COVID home care services to asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic patients. We offer two care plans of 14-days that include:
The benefits of our COVID home care service are:
Here are some of the highlights of our COVID home care services.
We assign a dedicated doctor and nurse to each patient.
The nurse monitors the patient once a day and records the vitals. The doctor gets updates about the patient’s condition every day through the nurse and talks to the patient every alternate day through our telemedicine platform.
The doctor prescribes investigations, medications, and therapy according to the COVID care protocols that are continuously adapted as the illness trajectory changes.
Our doctors are also available online for quick clarifications.
The patient is monitored daily for parameters like BP, Oxygen Saturation, Pulse, Temperature, and Sugar (for diabetics). All these parameters are digitally recorded in the app to help doctors maintain comparative view and identify any emerging patterns. The monitoring involves self as well as nurse-based monitoring.
It is important for COVID patients and their families to isolate and home and minimize their exposure to others. So, we offer home delivery of medicines prescribed by the doctors. We also provide medical devices like pulse oximeter or BP measurement machine at home to the patients.
Some COVID patients may need oxygen supply to help them restore their oxygen saturation levels while waiting for transit to a hospital. We work with our partner vendors to provide oxygen concentrator machines to such patients at home. These machines can be purchased or rented depending on the patient’s needs as part of our home monitoring care package. This is subject to the supply conditions in the market.
