Ganesh (name changed to protect privacy), a 46-years old male had undergone 15 days of COVID-19 treatment in May 2021 during the peak of second wave. After the initial treatment, he started complaining of uneasiness in his chest by end of May 2021. He also experienced pain in his calf muscles and joints. He had lost appetite and complained of nausea. He also had bouts of headache every now and then.

Ganesh’s kin approached us for clinical support and to monitor his condition at home.

Our doctors diagnosed him to be struggling with post COVID issues and conducted certain risk assessments. His inflammatory markers were elevated which were causing the symptoms. At this stage, we enrolled him into our 15-days post-COVID care package.

Our doctors prescribed a line of treatment that would help reduce the internal inflammation. We also advised him to continue consumption of protein, calcium, multivitamin, and minerals supplements.

After the first week of medication, we repeated our assessments to ensure his internal inflammation had reduced.

We assigned a nurse to remotely monitor his vitals daily.

During the initial stages, our Care Doctor engaged with Ganesh and his family through daily tele-consultations to address their concerns, provide answers to their questions, and help them gain clarity on his condition. These teleconsultations were then reduced to alternative days.

Outcomes

Ganesh showed improvement in his post-COVID symptoms with the new treatment. We advised him to continue supplementary medications for a month after the symptoms subsided completely.

His calf muscle ache disappeared and the uneasiness in his chest had subsided. He got back his appetite and was also relieved from headaches.

After the first week of treatment, we conducted two more follow-up calls with him in the second week and made sure his symptoms didnot recur.

He was discharged from our post COVID care program after 15 days on complete recovery.
